throttle cable HELP ASAP???
I GOT A 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA SE and my gas pedal was like oyu know kinda gotta press down to get it moving so i heard if i tightin my throttle cable it would get better so i had someone do that and it got tight and for some reason the steering wheel is a little stiffer how come and the pedal is a little to tuff??????????????????????
If the pedal requires more push force that normal, tightening it in anyway only tightens the cable to the bracket which are non moving parts.(wrong approach)
The cable is rusty inside and/or the throttle lever that it moves also needs lubrication.
Without the car running, have someone inside the car push the gas pedal down and up while you spray all the parts that you see move in this area. .Do this for a good minute.You can also use some standard grease applied with a small brush after your spraying is done.
