Having a parade for the 4th of july, I need some ideas please!?
I own a hair salon in a smallish town, we are having a parade for the 4th of july, I have no idea what to do to promote our business but keep it with the Red/White/Blue theme, I have horses, alot of kids, trailers, I can pretty much do nearly anything. I also have a trick rider that I can have ride with us. Please give me your ideas!

ok so im writing a story in the 1780s but i need to know EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you know about what a circus was like back then, and YES what an acrobat would typically wear or a trick rider!!!! (and yes, i made sure the 'circus' was around in that time period) THANX
Your research focus should definitely be Philip Astley -- the most important circus figure in that period. I'd recommend going to a contemporary text: The Memoirs of Jacob Decastro. I've never read the whole thing but have dipped in and out & it's pretty funny and rich in the sort of minute detail that you don't get from a historian. It also covers the major circus drama of the 1780s: the rivalry between Astley and the Royal Circus. A bit later on, but the Memoirs of Joseph Grimaldi are very funny (heavily edited/ghostwritten by Dickens). Address string is super-long to paste in here, but you can read that one on Google Books.
Get yourself over to yorkshire for some fast times. Not many trick riders up here, just big hills and fast riders.
