Trap Pedals

Problem when accelerating from a stop?
Hi, I have a 1992 Corvette, and recently I noticed something strange. Let me explain, I was sitting at a red light, when I started to move i was going with a normal pace, but then I put some more gas and I felt like the gas pedal didn´t respond like if it has some aire trapped or something, i step back and push it again and I kept cruising as normal and this didn´t happen me again. The only times this happened me was like a week ago and today. I hope you guys can please help me to know what causes this, and how serious is. Thanks!
sounds like fuel problems. change the gas filter and see if that helps. or it could be like the first person said, the accerator pump in the carb is bad and not pumping enough gas.

Speed Traps and Radar...?
Generally, at what speed does a person have to be moving over the limit to make it worth it for an officer to put down his gun, start his car, turn on his lights, floor the pedal to catch the person moving too fast, pull them over, and ticket them? I have passed them doing 10 mph over (55 in a 45) and they won't pull me over, but I have heard of others getting them at 6 mph over.
ALSO: When shooting radar on the side of the highway(4+ lanes on one side), which lanes do police target the most?
I'm curious not so I can speed and get away with it, I'd just like to know what standard proceedure is.
Bonus Question: Can you shoot radar while moving, and is it accurate, and if so, how does it work?
I DID at one time pass one doing 110 mph in a 55 section of a 6 lane highway. I know he must have got me on radar but all he did was shine his flashlight on my car as I passed him, he didn't come after me or radio anyone ahead of him.
The two main type speed detection devices used by law enforcement are RADAR and LIDAR.
To save time I'll explain them this way...
RADAR uses sound and LIDAR uses light. The sound or light is emitted by the device and the time it takes to return from the target back to the device is converted to a speed reading of the target vehicle.
What people don't understand is how law enforcement uses the equipment. The officer doesn't drive down the roadway waiting for the device to tell the officer of a speeder. The officer must use their own experience to determine if a car is speeding then use the device to verify the speed of the target vehicle. Why...because the officer is the witness not the speed device.
RADAR can be used while moving or stopped.
Is RADAR accurate...yes except when the target vehicle is in a curve which causes an issue where the RADAR actually displays the target at a slightly slower speed. The difference is less than 1mph and not enough for a judge to dismiss a case...especially since the difference is in favor of the violator.
Generally speaking in the old days when speedometer cables got old...speedometers often lost their accuracy. Today's vehicles don't have the same problems. In the old days officers normally gave 5-10mph over the limit as a threshold for bad speedometers. That "courtesy" has continued to this day although not required!
Again, generally speaking, most officers will use their discretion and allow 5mph over the limit in a residential zone and 10mph over the limit on the highway. Sadly, some have taken advantage of the allowance and continued over time to go faster and faster.
Traveling 110 in a 55 zone is extremely hazardous not only to you but to the other drivers on the roadway. Essentially, you took their lives in to your own control! The officer made a decision to disregard your speeding in hopes you would not continue to drive faster in a high speed pursuit causing more hazard on the roadway. Pretty smart on the officers part...and not so smart on your part!
Your questions and manner of writing suggest to me you are a younger person. Using my own experience...I didn't get as old and crusty as I am now by showing a lack of concern for my own safety as well as the others I share the roadways with. It's my sincerest hope you don't continue to test your speed on the roadways...eventually...devestation will catch up to you!

Levi, that is a good question. Those were actually on my old bike and yet again, I was waiting for new pedals. I ended up selling the pedals with old bike. I have nothing against speedplay, but a few years ago they seemed to be hot, so I bought them. The advantage of speedplay is that they are very easy to clip into (both sides). I realized the most of my riding on my race bike was actually in a race. During races I leave my shoes clipped into the pedals, so I didn't really need that advantage. I do know that the Look pedals were lighter and probably more aerodynamic.
