Tire Set
my tire has a leak where the tire sets to the rim what can i do?
i added some used rims and some new tires to my car and the rim is a 10 inch rim on a 255 tire on the front and 265 in the back well one of the front tires has a leak between a gap where the rim meets the tire...is it possible for the tire shop to not have stretched and seat the tire properly? i can actually see the gap..and when i sprayed tire shine on it there was alot of bubbles coming from that gap. I got installed today.
The tire shop may have done a rush job and did not clean the rim of debris or rust. Take it back and tell them the tire has a rim leak. They can take the tire off and inspect the rim to let you know if it is good. If the rim is good they can clean it and spray or put some sealant on the rim and tire bead to properly seal the rim leak. If the rim is no good, that is corroded beyond help, you replace the rim with a good used one or buy a new one. Make sure to have them balance the tire after repairing it or you could have a shaky steering wheel.

There Is A Feature That Tells You Your Oil Life And Tire Pressure And Its Controlled Throught The Radio, I Want to Change My Factory Radio To Something A Little More Flashy. But Would I Still Be Able To Control These Features
Do you have your owner's manual? The steps for resetting the TPMS and Oil Life Monitor without the radio are in the manual.
To reset the Oil Life Monitor do the following: turn the car on (do not start) and quickly press the gas pedal down three times. You should hear a chime and the Change Engine Oil light will flash and turn off.
To reset the TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System) make sure all tires are inflated properly then do this:
(From 2000 Impala Manual, process is the same for the Monte)
Turn the ignition to ON, then pull the interior lamps
control to the ON and OFF settings three times.
The system normally takes 15 to 20 minutes of driving
in each of three speed ranges to “learn” tire pressures.
The speed ranges are 15 to 40 mph (25 to 65 km/h),
40 to 65 mph (65 to 105 km/h) and above 65 mph
(105 km/h). When learning is complete, the system
will alert you after two to eight minutes if a tire is 12 psi
(83 kPa) different from the other three tires. Detection
thresholds may be higher and detection times may be
longer on rough roads, curves and at high speeds. The
system is not capable of detection at speeds greater than
70 mph (110 km/h).

The threshold that needs to be crossed revolves around a simple question. Do you want riding to be part of your life, or the center of it? I've known, been related to, and served many folks in all camps, your path is your own, but the question MUST be answered

I love horses — but some of them have been pretty hard on me. I'm not sure that are all that stupid. I took riding lessons when I was a Girl Scout (our troop was an equestrian troop), and my friends and I would go riding quite a bit. Girl Scouts was 40 years ago, but I still like to ride occasionally.
Once a horse kicked me in the thigh while I was trying to remount him while on the trail. I got an ugly bruise about 6″ in diameter from him. My mistake was that I dismounted him while on the trail. That was considered a no-no and I knew better.
For many horses the ride back to the barn is their chance to have some fun. It's their “Miller Time!” They start thinking about having that saddle off them and kicking back and enjoying some good grub, some fresh water, and getting this ash-hole off their back! In the process some of them get a little carried away. One of my friends had a horse that would run her into the side of the barn if she did not control her complelely on the return ride.
Another time I was riding a friend's horse bareback with no reigns — just for fun (and stupid). The horse had his mane trimmed so I had nothing to hold on to — and he knew I was vulnerable. He took me for a great little ride and then stopped suddenly and dropped his head so I would fly over the top of him. I'm lucky I didn't break my back or my neck.
Another time I was riding an old barrel racer. She was blind in one eye and I should have known better. She was sweet, but she took me around a corner too close and I ran my knee right into the side of an old truck parked near the barn. I dented the chrome frame on the headlamp of an old 1949 Chevy. Do you know how tough the chrome on an old car like that was? Again — I was lucky that I didn't break any bones!
I've been bitten several times and stomped on too, but the most fearful ride I ever took was about ten years ago in Bandera, Texas. The horse's name was “Diablo.” Duh? I should have known better — huh? He was young and full of himself. He loved riding in a full gallop — and I enjoyed the fast pace — but he didn't like slowing down or stopping. A group of us rode for several hours, and I have to say that by the time we got back to the barn I was exhausted from trying to control him. I heard that Bandera, Texas produces more rodeo cowboys than any other region. If they have horses like Diablo, I'll bet those cowboys get some good training!
I've never punched a horse. I guess I prefer trying the Rogerian-I'll-be-kind-and-caring-of-you-and-hope-you-will-reciprocate method, but obviously that has not always worked out for me. Who is stupid?
My daughter's dressage instructor used to punch her horses in the mouth all the time if they acted up while her students were riding them.
