I have been looking at the Thomson Elite stem but i came across another stem that is nicer looking, weighs less, and is less than half price. Im still leaning towards the Thomson but only cause of its reputation for quality and also cause i was going to get a matching post. I buy items for quality and durability first, but i like to have looks too, and they both look good but one costs alot less. I am not too worried about the weight difference, Im just stating that the cheaper one also weighs less.
Personally, I think spending that much money on a stem is a bit ridiculous, but if you want to, I'd go with the eBay one. I know that FSA is a good company. If its the right size, weight, and type, I'd get it. If you get that, I'll still be happily riding around on my $17, 10g heaver, Jenson Truvativ XR.

You can build them up clunky.. I think most bikes look bad with risers and deep v’s.. I think they look real nice with a good box rim (and those sexy-ass Nitto Nordeast bars). EC90 carbon track drops, Thomson Elite post, some lightweight saddle, and fairly light (for classic clinchers) wheels). The way it is now (the pic with the yellow saddle), it’s heavy as fuck, but it rides like a dream, living up to the Steamroller name.
