Need Information on My Takara Bike (PICS!)?
I just found my first road bike to build up and it is a Takara, I am trying to find out about these vintage bikes now. Where can I find information on these bikes? It seems pretty rare so far.

Takara was a Japanese "flash in the pan" which is why they seem rare. They are old (the shop I worked at stopped carrying them in 1979) but are not considered vintage or collectible and were distributed on the East Coast by a company called Gordon Cycle and Supply in Ohio. I have no idea whether they remain in business.
I have a couple of their higher end models- they are reasonably well built with no real drawbacks other than they are uncommon. That being said, you can refit the bike with anything that fits- there are no proprietary things going on with them. They even had a model called the ROB- Regular Old Bike.

A VIDEO REVIEW OF TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN CHROMIA
Entry Level Road Bike?
I'm looking to move up from a steel Takara i've been riding the last year and a half. The Trek 1.2 and 1.5 are the ones I have been looking at. Ideally I'm looking for an aluminum frame and a carbon fork. Any other suggestions?
Fuji makes some very nice models. I bought one of their Professional models & it was fantastic. They use very good quality components too.
