If it works for you then go with it but.....I would definetly get rid of those wheels and that fork sometime down the road they are both JUNK but since all the manufacturers started putting the lower ended stuff on most all their bikes with the advent of the downturn in the economy its no wonder they left you with those components. Upgrade this one to a 9 speed at some point. Brakes up to the BB7 maybe and any 100mm fork should be fine, Rock shox Dart III maybe. Ride what you have before you go throwing hundreds of dollars at a bike that barely cost over $500 as it is. Money would be better spent on a better equipped bike in the longrun!
