What is the best wheel tire combo to hook up my 03 SVT Cobra?
I need to know the best wheel and tire combo to get traction on my 03 Cobra. It's running aroung 500 RWHP. I am currently using Nittos 315/35/17 I don't want to change to solid axle because I'm not trying to be too hardcore, but I was wanting to go to a more agressive gripping tire. Street Legal or Slicks - your suggestions are welcome!
Well, if you are looking for more straight line grip, the width of your tires are fine, but the sidewall is too short. Look at the drag racers. They use 15" wheels ( I use Weld Draglites ). The sidewall of slicks are quite tall, and the air pressure is low, (approximately 15psi ). As you probably know, wheels and tires for straight line hook up are terrible for lateral hook up.
