Stainless Steel How can you clean stainless steel?
I have several stainless steel fronted items in my kitchen and cannot find a satisfactory method of cleaning them. Even a cleaner which is purported to be only for that purpose is useless and leaves everything streaky.
Miss Skittles. Do you mix the olive oil and vinegar and which vinegar?
There are several ways to clean stainless. I have a mix of stainless and black appliances and all I use is clean, hot, soapy dish water and a microfiber cloth. The microfiber cloth is the key. They wipe/clean so much more thoroughly than any sponge, dish cloth or paper towel! I get mine at Sam's Club and use them for nearly everything! The ones at Walmart stink unless you get the ones in the automotive section. The cloths in the home section are way too thin and flimsy.
If you have stains or grease build up then a dose of Barkeeper's Friend will take care of the issue. Barkeeper's is wonderful on any metal. It's a powdered cleanser similar to scouring powder but not nearly as abrasive. Dampen the area, give it a sprinkle, smear the cleaner around with a sponge and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to work. Then come back and scrub with your sponge. Use a wet microfiber cloth to wipe up the Barkeepers or you will have streaks! And Barkeeper's is cheap! I use it on all my stainless steel cookware, metals that need polished and to remove nasty spots on my ceramic cook top.
A mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 window cleaner (cheap stuff is fine) in a spray bottle works well. It also is a disinfectant because of the alcohol. Spray and wipe immediately with a paper towel or a clean microfiber cloth.
Although I use white vinegar for a lot of things, I haven't gotten good results with it on the stainless. If you have a steam generating cleaner, they work well when paired with a microfiber cloth. I have one but for daily wipe ups, I just use the hot dish water and the microfiber cloth. It's fast and it works.

Liebherr Stainless Steel Refrigeration - for Any Modern Kitchen
Stainless steel is one of the most popular materials for domestic appliances today as it is so versatile and looks great in any modern kitchen. Stainless steel is also easy to clean and is durable, saving you time and lasting that little bit longer.
Liebherr stainless steel fridges and freezers are amongst the best examples of the metal being used in domestic appliances and combine modern, contemporary designs with clever technological features designed to make food storage easy and convenient for you.
Within the Liebherr stainless steel range is a vast selection of fridges, freezers and fridge- freezers in a variety of integration types, including in column fridge-freezers, built under fridge- freezers and freestanding models.
Prices range from about £400 to around £3000 and come in a great many sizes and styles so that you can find the perfect Liebherr stainless steel appliance to fit into your kitchen and your lifestyle.
But even at the lower end of the price scale, Liebherr do not fail to impress with the CTPsef 2031 model, which is a free standing fridge- freezer that you can definitely get your money's worth from. This perfectly designed Liebherr stainless steel appliance has an energy efficiency rating A+, which can only be a good thing in a world that places such high emphasis on energy efficient products from both a financial and environmental point of view.
In this Liebherr stainless steel fridge- freezer the spacious 4 star freezer compartment is at the top of the unit with a large refrigerator beneath it. This appliance, along with other Liebherr stainless steel fridge- freezers in the top- freezer range, has lots of space for fresh food, safe long-term storage and is easy to use.
If we take a look at the other end of the price spectrum, at just below the £3000 mark, the side- by- side Liebherr stainless steel SBSes 7155 fridge-freezer encompasses everything you would ever need from a freestanding fridge- freezer, including masses of storage space, Biofresh technology to keep your food good and fresh for up to three times as long as an ordinary fridge and this range of Liebherr stainless steel appliances also has an excellent energy efficiency rating of between A and A+ depending on the model you choose.
As well as the basics, this Liebherr stainless steel appliance includes some luxury features such as the integral ice maker and a compartment dedicated to storing wine.
However, if the SBSes 7155 does not have enough space for all of your wine, there are also a number of wine cabinets available in Liebherr stainless steel. They come in a number of different sizes and can hold between 40 and 231 75cl bottles of Bordeaux depending upon the range and model you choose.
Each of the Liebherr stainless steel wine coolers has an adjustable temperature function and if you want to store different types of wine together, the multi- temperature wine cabinets are also available in Liebherr stainless steel and allow you to set different temperatures in each of up to six wine storage compartments within the cabinet.

I was certainly hoping my provocative post would reel someone in. Even better that I should land the host of Environmental Radio on CFRU (Thursdays 12 noon – 1 p.m.)!
We really should chat. Lets have coffee sometime (my health permitting). I do need that interview with the recycling coordinator. Gillian knows that I've been pushing for it for a while. Now there is no excuse. (:
I'd also love to know more about what the University is doing to improve its recycling. I know there is a program in place. I'm just not sure that it is being monitored closely enough. Mind you, you could say that about the City too! I can be a bit of a Doubting Thomas…
Its good to hear that the university will be giving out some stainless steel water bottles in orientation week. I hope its going to continue throughout the year. It would be great if they sold them at the shops in the UC at a deep discount.
I'd, of course, prefer a clear statement of intent and a blanket ban on the sale of plastic bottles on campus. It also doesn't help when Hospitality Services make them available for catered functions.
My impression is that the university administration is often keen to start programs for their P.R. value but doesn't necessarily put enough resources behind them to make a difference. I'd certainly like to be convinced otherwise.
