do i need to put spacers on my front axle?

i am putting my front end together, it is the american suspension dragon slayer. there is allot of play between the bearings and the axle housing. should i use or do they make spacers for the front axle, or am i on the wrong track completely? what should i do?

I am having a hard time figuring out what you mean by "between the bearing and the axle housing"?
Do you mean, when you slip the axle through the fork, there is excessive play between the axle and the holes in the forks that the axle slides through?
Or between the wheel bearings and the forks?
What is the diameter of your axle and inside diameter of your wheel bearings and the inside diamter of the axle holes in the forks?

What is the year, make and model of your bike? and What year range is the front end you have?
Is your front end a wide-glide or narrow-glide style and what is the wheel for, wide or narrow glide?

Also...if you are changing front-ends...do you have a FACTORY service manual to show you the proper way to set the steering neck bearing tension (fall-away)? And if the neck bearings (and wheel bearings-tapered wheel bearings MUST have end-play double checked before installation) are tapered roller type bearings, use LUCAS RED & TACKY GREASE...this is the best grease on the market for this purpose, it will not melt and run out like almost all other types of grease, it take over 400 degrees to make Lucas run & drip.

If you could take some pics of what you are trying to describe and email them to me, it would help alot. You can email me through my profile here and I will reply with my regular address.

Honda Aircraft Company Breaks Ground for $100 Million Headquarters in North Carolina

Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. (HACI), has recently took the next major step toward delivering HondaJet to its customers as it recently broke ground for its new 369,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) airport in Greensboro, North Carolina.

"By breaking ground for this new Honda Aircraft facility today, we take the next important step in getting HondaJets into the skies tomorrow," said Michimasa Fujino, president & CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. "With the warm reception we have received in the Triad, and the great response HondaJet has received from our customers, we are confident of a very bright future here in North Carolina."

According to the company press release, HACI will manage the research, development, sales, marketing and manufacturing of the advanced light jet, HondaJet. The new facility will replace the company's existing 32,000 square foot hangar and office complex at PTI. The HondaJet production facility, measuring approximately 150,000 square feet, is currently in the design phase. HACI plans to begin deliveries of HondaJet to customers in 2010.

Investment for construction of the headquarters and production facility reportedly cost about $100 million including equipment. Total Honda Aircraft Company employment, including all engineering, sales and marketing, manufacturing and support activities, will increase to approximately 350 associates once the manufacturing plant reaches full production.

In addition, the company anticipates that about 90 percent of HondaJet's component parts will be supplied by companies in the U.S. and Canada.

HondaJet is Honda's first-ever commercial aircraft and aims to live up to the company's reputation for dynamic performance together with superior efficiency, delivering class-topping cruise speed and fuel efficiency, greater luggage capacity and a more spacious cabin with seating for up to eight people, compared to other products in the very light jet (VLJ) class.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

Honda Aircraft Company, Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Founded in Japan in 1948, Honda began operations in the U.S. in 1959 with the establishment of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Honda's first overseas subsidiary. Honda began U.S. production of motorcycles in 1979 and automobiles in 1982. The company has invested more than $9 billion in its North American operations, with employment of more than 33,000 associates and annual purchases of more than $16 billion in parts and materials from suppliers in North America. Nearly 80 percent of the Honda (also maker of quality auto parts like Honda throttle body spacer) and Acura automobiles purchased by U.S. consumers in 2006 were manufactured by Honda plants in North America.
