which bike is best for me?
I am female, 18.. in australia.
I want a bicycle, not an overly girly one, generally a silver or black colour.
anyway, ill be using it to make trips of around 2.5kms round trip a few times a week, and when i build up my fitness, making trips of 15 or so kms.
but what kind of bike should i go for? mountain, bmx etc etc...
if you like, a brand name/code wouldn't go unappreciated.

If you plan on this bike being a commuter, or mainly used on paved roads and paths, both mountain bikes and bmx bikes are less comfortable, slower, and more work to get around on. You would be much better off with a hybrid for better street performance and riding comfort. If you want the best paved surface performance and are less concerned about riding comfort, a sport bike will work best. If you aim to do both paved and trail riding, a mountain bike with a hardtail will be suitable, but look for a cross-country style, which will be lighter and better for commuting than more serious off-road types. BMX is useless for anything except stunts.
I'm not going to dare name brands - every cycle shop will feature different brands, and all brands make good bikes and not so great bikes. People will tell you this or the other is 'the best', but it amounts to little more than personal bias. Go to a bike shop and see what they have. Ask questions, tell them your uses and budget.
But do go to a real bike shop and not a department store - you'll get a better bike, more informed suggestions, and much better support after you buy the bike.

The Popularity of Carbon Fiber Hoods, Scoops, and Pins For Import and European Car Models
Being a very low weight material and looking cool is what people associate with carbon fiber hoods. The rigidness of carbon fiber car hoods is yet another reason to install one. This fact is often overlooked by car enthusiasts. Masters of the carbon fiber hood process are DG Motorsports, VIS, Vfiber, Carbon Creations, JSP, and the Seibon carbon fiber hood company. They know exactly what it takes to weave strands of carbon fiber to produce the best carbon fiber hoods in the world.
When considering weight, carbon fiber hoods definitely weigh less the stock OEM hoods. Often times, made of mostly steel, factory car hoods are not lightweight. Adding a carbon fiber car hood will decrease around forty to fifty pounds off a car. One can expect relatively faster start times with the installation of a carbon hood.
Something else to consider is the added handling improvement that will be gained from having carbon fiber hoods. Because of the lighter weight of the carbon fiber material while maintaining strength and rigidity, weight is reduced in the front portion of the car; more specifically the front wheels. This increases the car's balance and enables an easy drive experience.
Custom carbon fiber hoods can be designed to take the car to another level of styling and performance. Vents can be added to carbon fiber car hoods to increase air flow to the engine, intake, or intercooler. Added curves and details can heighten aerodynamics as well.
When looking at carbon fiber hoods, definitely pay attention to whether or not a layer of UV protection is built in or not. Another important detail is the type and grade of carbon fiber that has been used to manufacture the carbon fiber hood you are looking at. You want only grade A carbon fiber strands and the best carbon fiber weaving and composites to make up your hood.
Several options are available for a custom carbon fiber hood. An EVO style hood is a popular way to add a unique look to any car. Another option is color. A red carbon fiber hood and a silver carbon fiber hood are the most requested colors of carbon hoods. Other things that can be added are vents or a carbon fiber hood scoop. Carbon fiber hood pins are yet another detail that can be added!
Custom carbon fiber hoods or even just any carbon fiber car hoods can be costly. Cheap carbon fiber car hoods CAN be found though, like for the Scion TC or Integra by Acura. The import scene most likely saw the first carbon hood on an Acura in the form of an Integra carbon fiber hood.
