Can a close contact be used as an all purpose saddle?
Hi,
I was wondering if a close contact saddle can be used in most events? I need a saddle that i can use for hunter/jumper and eventing as well as just for schooling.
I was wondering if a close contact saddle can be used in these kinds of competetions?

yes... close contact saddle are the same as all purpose saddles w/o the thick knee rolls... they just help you move with the horse better and more freely

used saddle?
hi, ive been riding since august 2007, and ikno i wont start showing anytime soon, im 13, and i wanted to know where i could get a used saddle. i live in virginia, in the glen allen/richmond area. a good used saddle, not too pricey, would be amazing. or a cheap nonused saddle...but thats a stretch...thanks in advance!

Try going to your local tack shops! Just ask around for different places - ask horse people in your area. Im positive there will be saddle shops where you can buy used saddles. Theres also a type of shop (I forgot the name) Where you can get used horse items.

Delhi4cats: no need to worry! Tarq thinks so much of himself, the possibility that somebody thinks he is nót the greatest horse on the planet, would never enter his head.
Checkers: you would be a lovely horse, but probaly more of a pony. Tarq is never in doubt about his superiority.
Marahm; Especially amongst our riding association you will see many different types of saddle. I want to be able to ride long hours in the saddle, and an english saddle is just not a good choice for that: an english saddle is a ''sports-saddle'' to be used for 1/2 hours. A western type saddle (basically a classical saddle) is much more comfortable for long rides, as the weight of the rider is distributed over a much larger aerea.
Mine is an endurance saddle, and I don't have a horn.
