Rear Caliper

how to get rear caliper brake piston back on buick regal 1996?
if it has an emergency cable to it then you have to spin piston while pushing in, i usually take a pair of needlenose pliers and put the tips into the grooves on piston top, spinning piston while pushing in piston should make it collapse, there are special tools for this but the pliers work for me

Rear Caliper Replacement Part 1 of 2 Mercury Montego AWD Ford 500 AWD
How To Replace Brake Discs
Replacing the brake disc, also called a rotor, on a front wheel drive car is considered a relatively simple task for a car owner.
First, raise the wheels of the car and support with jack stands for safety. Do not work on the car while it is only on a jack. Remove the wheel. Now, to replace a brake disc, the brake caliper must be removed. Locate the caliper attaching bolts, screws or clips that hold the caliper in place and remove them.
Next, remove the caliper by lifting straight out from the center of the wheel. The caliper should be lifted evenly and not one end before the other. It may be necessary to slightly spread the brake pads for easy removal. This can be done by using a pry bar to gently pry the caliper assembly outward. Support the caliper by tying it up with a rope or wire. Do not allow it to hang by the brake hose.
After caliper removal, the brake disc is ready to be removed. Many front wheel drive cars are equipped with a brake disc that simply slides off of the lug bolts. Some discs are held on by two or three screws. A few automobiles require a little more work. The nut of the drive axle may need to be removed and three or four bolts that hold the disc / hub assembly in place from the inside will need to be removed. Then the assembly can be separated to remove the disc. On most rear wheel drive vehicles, the front wheel assembly is held in place by the wheel bearings. These bearings must be removed to remove the disc from the hub assembly.
Reinstalling the new disc will be in the reverse of disassembly. Wheel bearings will need to be cleaned and repacked if removed. Take care to reinstall the brake pads correctly. New brake pads are recommended when replacing the disc. Check brake fluid level in the master cylinder and test the brakes thoroughly before driving.
Most car owners will find this fairly easy to do. It’s always a good idea to consult any automotive manuals that may have come with your vehicle. Safe Driving.

Honda Accord 2004-2008 in Germany is the same body as Acura TSX 2004-2008. However, the dash and the interior of German Accord is the same as US Accord. Acura TSX dash is different.
The rear stabilizer bar is 14 mm as opposed to 15 mm in USA TSX.
German petrol accord has only 2.0L engine (150 HP), not like 2.4 in TSX or US Accord.
Today I returned from the same Honda dealer in Dusseldorf with rear calipers replaced. Since my last post, I noticed that heating of the rear discs has shown again, so I called the dealer and they agreed to exchange the calipers, free of charge. Have tested the heat issue with VST or without it.. rear discs are cool driving for 10 miles with no brakes applied(means that brakes are not pressing against the discs during the free run or with VST), however, they get very hot after several brake applications, city driving.
Also, since my Accord is diesel version, I noticed that the brakes(discs, calipers, etc) are not the same as in benzin(petrol) version of the same Accord. However, petrol euro accords have the same brakes (front and rear, and all discs) as Acura TSX or US Honda Accord. that means that I cannot get those nice Dura Gold ceramic pads from Autozone, and have to buy (in the future) brake pads from Honda only. front ones cost 98 eu plus 19% sales tax( totaling about 150 $ with today exchange rate to USD), rear ones are 78 eu..
Anyway, the dealer could not give me explanation about heating up, they tend to blame the bad calipers. I do not believe that they will take the calipers apart, I only hope those parts are sent back to Honda for investigation, since those were exchanged under warranty.
Fast and Simple. I look like a hipster tho. I throw everything in my chrome bag. I ride a leader aero frame, single speed with beefy crank. Have front and rear caliper brakes. Velocity wheels with a beefy spoke count and some high psi tires.
Its only 2 bolts per side, the Caliper pistons are turn in style so you will need a big screwdriver to compress the piston back into the caliper. Those rear calipers are known to have frozen pins so make sure they move freely back and forth before putting the car back together
