Rear Brake
Any tips on replacing rear brake pads for 2001 audi s4?
I just did my front brake pads for my 2001 Audi S4. I haven't looked at the rear pads yet -- is there anything I need to know, or is it similar to the front ones?
You might need a special piston tool. Some cars have to have their rear calipur piston rotated as they are pressed back into the cylinder. Not rotating them can cause damage. Auto Zone sells a 12 piece disc brake calipur tool set that fits almost any brake system for about $30.

Rear Brake Job
The dealer says if he redoes my rear brakes he will probably also have to redo the parking brake. Make sense?
It's a clean, 2003 Ford Explorer XLT with 48,000 miles. He says if he replaces the rear brak pads and turns the rotors the parking brake pads will probably fall out and have to be replaced. Is this trustworthy?
No it's not.
The emergency (parking brake) almost never gets used.
and those pads will have very little wear on them.
He just wants to sell you something you don't need.
