What size rims do i need for a (700x23c) 23-622 continental ultra race road bike tires?


hi i both this old road bike to make a fixie, but it didn't have any tires.
i went and also both some (700x23c) 23-622 continental ultra race road bike tires, but it does not seems to fit the bikes rims or wheels,
what size wheels (rims) do i need to buy to make the tires fit.
(i.e. i can't change the tires because i both it from a guy and he wouldn't take them back)

A lot of old road bikes have 27" wheels, which are slightly larger in diameter than 700c. So, if you want wheels to fit the tires you bought, you have to buy 700c wheels. It might be less expensive to buy some 27" tires to use on the wheels you have. They are a bit more difficult to find, but they are still available

How do you store a race bike in the winter?


I know how to ride the bike, but little else. Help a girl out? it's a ventura jamis for girls race bike and it's currently hanging upside down in my uninsulated shed. It's hovering around 0 degrees Celcius outside right now so time is ticking.

OH NO! Please bring that bike inside. What happens in the temperature changes is condensation. Parts that are never exposed to the weather can get wet. Like inside sealed bearings. When you heat metal the first thing that is produced is water from vapor in the atmosphere. The old high school experiment with an aluminum can and a match. The temperature change only has to be 30 degrees. We get that all the time over the course of a winter.

Bring it in. Clean it completely. Lubricate it. (or take it in for a tune up) It will be ready for riding next season.

Low on space? A clean road bike can reside in a living room as art. A hook can be screwed in the ceiling and the bike can be hung in a bedroom. ( I have been accused of taking my carbon bike to bed but that is just a rumor!!)

    Hi, maybe can also include the following points…

    Do some research and understand the differences between 2 and 4 stroke engines. Not understanding the unique requirements (2T) of a 2 stroke bike is a disaster waiting to happen.

    Also, be wary of “race-ready” bikes like the KTM200 and other high performance 2 stroke dirt bikes. These are race bikes with lights, and demand a great deal of TLC to keep it in tip-top condition. Hardly suitable for a newbie with limited technical knowledge and know-how. Just because it’s a 200cc does not mean it’s a beginner’s bike.

    Personally, I don't quite get the point of “adventure racing”. I have a problem with measuring “nature experiences” in the currency of time. I know that sounds a bit hipocritical, since I race bikes for a living – but for me, I use nature as a way to get away from the clock. Not to seek it.
