Why does a piece of clear plastic absorb IR light?
Why is it that a clear piece of plastic blocks IR rays when set in front of an infrared camera? Also, why does a black trash back NOT block the radiation?
well the reason light goes through windows is because of the electrons in the atoms in the glass. they go at a frequency that doesn't absorb light which has the frequencies of visible light. so the plastic glass does not have electrons that absorb visible light, but do absorb the IR frequencies of light.
