People are telling me that I am going to need to change the whole back wheel is this true or do I just have to change the driver along with the sprocket?

Stolen Class Ring Chainwheel

Dicta 14T to a 14mm/Sealed cassette w/ 9T driver
you will definately have to change your rear hub to a cassette, and most cassette hubs are 14mm, and you have to make sure that you have 14mm dropouts on your frame. you would do well to talk first to your local shop before tweaking this to much.
