Good BMX Flatland Bike?
I've been biking for about 7 months now and ever since I started I loved flatland. I currently ride a We The People 2009 Arcade bike. I don't know what exactly defines a flatland bike, but I've been thinking about either looking at a new bike or getting better parts for mine. Any suggestions?
Everything you'll ever need for a Flatland bike and flatland parts can be found on this website..
http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=2
Characteristics of a Flatland-specific bike are...
- Shorter top tube (18"-19.5")
- Shorter Cranks (140mm - 160mm)
- High psi tyres (100+)
- Short reach stem (zero to 35mm)
- Freecoaster rear hub
- Zero offset forks
- 4 pegs
- Tall seat post (330mm)
- Small sprocket (18t - 25t)
- Bent tubing on frame
The best beginner Flatland bike on the market at the moment, in terms of price and quality, is this one. http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1322 I would suggest getting this if you wanna start riding Flat. You can upgrade all your parts or any of ur parts when u need to, from the 'components' section on that site. The bike you have at the moment is designed for street and park. You'll notie a hell of a lot of differen between this bike and the one you have right now, believe me.
Also, get urself this dvd, it'll teach you a hell of a lot when ur starting out... http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=630
