Pegs Stand What is a 'peg leg' in action figure terminology? ?
I discovered this term recently while purchasing 80s GI-Joe figures from ebay. One toy I bid on has a "broken peg leg" and yet it appears to be standing...I have looked up 'peg leg' but can't figure out what on earth this means...Does anyone know?
Action figures and dolls usually use 4 different types of securing limbs that can be articulated.
1. "Peg leg" a plastic pin that holds the arm/leg in place. usually the pin ends can be seen on each side of the joint.
2. Rivets- i.e. 60's to 70's action figures like Mego and Tomland. Early versions of these 2 manufacturers. Later they used plastic pins. Also know as Type 1 and Type 2.
3. Ball Joints-Such as spawn figures , Dragonball Z figures and other similar bigger 6 inch action figures.
4. Plugs- male to female ends usually for smaller vinyl figures.
