Do those little octane autozone NOS' etc octane boosters really work? pros/cons please thanks?
saw those little octane shots at my local autozone and was curious, says to dump a small shot of it into gas tank for a blast of power? hmm i got a ford mustang 5 speed 3.8L and not very interested in tuning up but thought it might be kinda cool if they were worth it, any feedback on them?
I added 6 cans at one time just to test them to see if they would work in my 11.5 : 1 compression engine with open chamber heads..... According to the bottle, it said each bottle would treat approximately 60 gallons of fuel / so I put in enough to treat 360 gallons into 16 gallons of gas. It still pinged like a champ. I can dial in my advance inside my car and it even pinged when I went to 0 degrees advance. So in my humble opinion the octane booster that I used was worthless and a total waste of money.
But.... it's possible that they may work in a low compression low horse power V6 engine such as the 3.8 Mustang, but, are worthless in a radical cammed, high compression perfomance engine.
