How long does NOS last in a car once it is initiated?
How long does NOS last in a car once it is initiated?
like, once i press down the pedal and keep it held till the whole bottle is empty, how long will the boost my speed for? Lets assume that the bottle is of standard size, and that its temp is normal (whatever it is supposed to be when it is being used)
also, lets assume a wet direct port system.
This depends on the amount of horsepower you're adding with the nitrous. In other words, the more power you add with the nitrous, the more nitrous (and fuel) you use. I think the formula for determining nitrous usage is :
0.8 pounds nitrous x 10 seconds = 100 horsepower
Or, put another way, nitrous being consumed at the rate of 0.8 pounds over a 10 second period would generate roughly 100 additional horsepower.
Using this formula, a 10 pound bottle with a system adding 100 horsepower would theoretically last about 125 seconds; 200 horsepower would reduce that to about 60 seconds; 300 horsepower would be about 40 seconds, etc...

Buzz on the Blues Jr.?
Okay, so I bought a new Blues Jr. NOS Tweed Limited Edition and I'm very pleased with the sound. And yet, my guitar has single coils and it gets that annoying buzz. I was wondering how I can get rid of it. My friend has a noise suppressor pedal, but I don't want to buy it if it will only reduce it. I want it completely gone.
Thats an awesome little amp you've got. I've owned a standard Jr. for about 5 or 6 years now.
But as far as that buzz goes, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
The Blues Jr. is a noisy little amp with it's gain (volume knob on the left) turned up, especially with single coil pickups being used.
If you have an overdrive pedal, such as a TS9 Tubescreamer, you can achieve a good sounding OD without too much noise.
The trick is to keep the Volume knob set as low as possible, set the Master knob as high as possible and let the Pedal provide the break up sound.
Also pay attention to where you're standing. Often simply turning away from the amp or standing off to the side will reduce the buzz/hum.
