how do you get up when in the army? and you know you have a long hard day ahead?
as i lay in bed i know that today is going to be hard. and i don't really want to get up my body feels exhausted.
Part of the point of your initial training (boot camp, basic, whatever) is to strike a deadly fear in your heart of EVER being late, not showing up where you need to be, or not doing your duty.
It sticks. You won't sleep in often.
Once you're at your permanent duty station, you won't be killed if you are late once or twice a year. But any more than that, you are going to get some grief from your sergeants.

Two seconds? Ouch. It's stuff like that makes me NOT long for the old days of compact digital cameras. If true, it really sabotages the P5000. Particularly sad because I still keep my Coolpix4500 around – it's one of the ones with the swivel in it, and is sufficiently unobtrusive that it's useful for getting candid shots. And not having to carry around my SLR.
