Does a difference in over all case length mater? Will it affect my accuracy?
Im loading 110gr TSX bullets in my .270, and I have noticed that after I have seated the bullet, that it isn't seating it consistently. Some over all case lengths are measuring 3.335" and some lengths range right through to 3.340". Is this going to affect my accuracy? Am I still going to shoot tight groups?
It's overall cartridge length, not case length, you're talking about. That had me befuddled for a second. Jump to the lands makes some difference, but it's at the ogive, not the tip, that it comes into consideration. What you're probably measuring is a difference in the tips, with some deformation only at the very tip. That won't matter significantly.

Every chord on the sphere lies within a "great circle", i.e., an inscribed circle which is concentric with the sphere. As a single great circle can be tilted to accommodate all the chords within the circle, it is therefore enough to find the average chord length of one of its great circles, which is a circle of radius 1. This can be evaluated by integration, the average chord length is given by:
(∫√(1 - r^2) dr (from -r to r))/2
The integral is nothing but the area of the circle, which is π * 1^2 = π. So, the average chord length is π/2.

Hi, thanks for the comment. As a series, this is full of good ideas and, on that ground, is worth a look. But I repeat that she is better at shorter length. Not all the novels are of the highest quality. If you are setting out to read her for the first time, try the collections of short stories first and then start the series at the beginning with Garden of Iden.
