BMX brake noise?
I have a Haro mirra 540 bmx with tektro brakes that come with most bmx. my brakes are set up good no problem with that, and they are good too. what really gives me trouble is that some times, when i press the rear brake an annoying sound is heard. it is a deep shreak 'qqqqqqqqqqqeeqqqqqqqqq'(sort of lol, i cant describe it!) i dont think its the brake set up, i mean i traded my pads with another haro and the sound comes out just the same. its really freaking me out cause i just come out of a cool trick and impress my friends and then being joked around for my brakes. what can i do?
It is your brake setup.
Your brake shoes have to have what is called "toe in". This means that the front of the pad has to touch before the rear of the pad. If the pads touch flat on the rim or if the back touches first you'll get squealing.
To do this, simply loosen the pad, tilt the pad forward a little, then retighten. I know this can be a pain but it will get rid of the squealing.

BMX Wheels: MAGS or Spokes?
The rear wheel on my BMX bike cracked, so i have to get a new one. Should I get mag wheels or spoke wheels? The bike is a Haro Mirra 540 Air.
Mag wheels are heavy and week and they look ridiculous.
Nuff said.
Spokes are really varied though, you can get some really good wheels that are double wall.
This means they have 2 layers inside the rim so they're stronger.
Single wall are pretty rubbish and tripple are over the top.
It also depends on how well the wheel is laced (put together). When you buy a new wheel you usually need to tighten the spokes up after the first few rides.. I suggest you read into this.
I also recomend Odyssey Hazard Lite wheels
