How much should I pay for this bike?

PS To Bob? I know you answered it before.. but I keep wanting a road bike. However I see other schwinns for 80 in Chicago but I live in San Francisco. What should I do? Do you think the Hybrid IMpasse will be really heavy and wheels heavy like a mtb?
Between the two bikes you're links are showing I personally would go with the Haro Impasse Hybrid. I'd offer 75% of the asking price. If you are really wanting a Road bike I'd hold off and not settle for anything less because chances are good that you'll be able to find what you're looking for at the price you're willing to pay. If you purchase one of the above bikes you probably will not be happy with the bike for long and will end up taking a loss when you re-sell the bike. The Hybrid IMpasse will have heavier wheels but not like a mtb, it's uses are meant for paved trails and commuting purposes not for off road riding and the bike itself will be heavier than a Road bike.
