how to convince my parents to let me take my bmx gyro off, and change it with straight cable, pro and cons pls?
ok, i want to change my gyro. the guy at the shop said that it is beneficial, but not in specific. i ride a haro x2 low. i know ot will lower the wieght and my dad does not understand that...please give me pros and cons to this.. help me to find a way to change his mind thx!
You are using "lower weight" as an argument?! No wonder you are losing! Changing brake routing shuold never be done to "save weight".
Yes, you'll save a bit of weight but the change will NOT improve overall performance. It WILL improve braking performance but you will lose the ability to spin the bars.
Repairs are also much easier and much less expensive.
All this being said, I imagine that you had some say in choosing the bike and if I were your parents I wouldn't let you change it either. You wanted it, now live with it.
