do you think it is time to put my old boy in a wheel chair?
he is almost 14 years old and has struggled on his back legs for last 6 yrs due to arthritis . the vets think it his end of days , but to me he has all his brains just cannot get around on his rear legs .
he has fallen in his own mess a few times , but still his own self in his brain
so i have been wondering about wheel chairs for dogs as he still has all his faculties as he is still aggressive to people that mess with him ..
do you think it time for euthanasia or is wheel chair the answer?
do you think bmx wheels will work well in a dogie sling for off road ?
he cannot stand up on his own legs for jiggy jiggy do you also think with no sex this is no quality of life ?

I would say, give it a try and if he's still happy that's the really important thing.
You won't know till you give it a try, im not sure if any of mine would be happy like that though it's really going to depend on the dog.
Sorry it's not the best answer, but only you will be able to judge if the quality of life is good enough.
I know Basil and Willow wouldn't have been happy with the situation, But i might consider trying it it if something happened to Wallace's health as he has been happy enough even stuck in the house all day with his last owners, so being out in on wheels would still be better than his first 3 years.
There's also the practical side of going to the toilet, and i think going on his own would be an important factor for a lot of male dogs.
If he can still get around and keep enough strength in his legs to go without help then i would keep him going, but if he loses his ability to walk all together and you need to hold him up he might not be so happy or seem his-self anymore.
