BMX bike stores Queens NY?
Please, I live in college point NY 11356. Ive been to Roberts Bicycles and Bel-lite in Jamaica. Both of them are very overpriced. I want a GT, Mongoose, or Diamondback. Please don't say Toys r us because they sell fake and crappy bikes. I want one ranging from 250-350 dollars. Anyone know a bike store that would sell these brands?

BIKERS: What is an INEXPENSIVE, FAST, DURABLE, and RELIABLE bicycle that u would recommend I purchase?
A few details about my biking habits that could aid you in your decisions about which bike would be best for me:
I have been riding my brother's GT PALOMAR mountain bike, and it is an excellent bike. It has all the qualities I asked for in this question. I love the bike.
I would most likely prefer mountain bikes over BMX or racing bikes due to the smooth, comfortable rides that mountain bikes offer, over the small, uncomfortable size of the BMX or racing bikes. I rode my friends racing bike today, and was horrified at the experience-- the bike was slow, tiny, and very uncomfortable compared with the GT PALOMAR.
I would like to bike to school and from school. My school is 3 miles away, and therefore I bike at least 6 miles per day at least on mondays through fridays.
On weekends I bike about 3-6 miles. That totals about 34 miles on average per week.
I bike on roads, sidewalks, and barely bike on mountainous/grassy terrain.

The obvious answer is the bike you already know.
But you may want to consider that for the type of riding you are talking about you may be better off with a hybrid (or "city bike") rather than a mountain bike. As the name implies they are like a cross between a mountain bike and a road bike ... usually (but not always) without the drop handlebars, but lighter and with narrower tires than a mountain bike.
Furthermore, judging all road bikes on the basis of riding a friends bike may be misleading you. For example, you say it was "slow, tiny and uncomfortable" ... all possible indicators that it was simply not the right size for you. Which is not to say a road bike is best for your purposes. personally I love road bikes .. but I think they are best for good roads and long trips, not rough city streets and short commutes.
I have given you a link to some GT hybrids (there are lot's of other choices) to give you some ideas. The main reason I suggest considering this type of bike is because they have big enough tires to handle rough city streets, yet are lighter and easier to peddle than mountain bikes, have a good range of gears for urban use, are still upright so you get good visibility and can be seen easily and can take racks to allow school bags or whatever. Finally, because they are not as popular as mountain bikes they are less likely to be attractive to thieves ... a problem with any bike.
