We live in a society that loves a good stunt, especially for the movies and other shows either live or in the movies or television. Stunt riders are professionals who make their living riding cars, motorcycles, and trucks for the movies. They know how to drive, and they know how to make their vehicles accomplish crazy things in a safe way. And even though the stunts that stunt riders do may last only seconds, they take a very long time to plan because they are so involved.
Stunt riders for the most part love their jobs. They love to ride their vehicles fast and in dangerous ways. It is a dangerous job, but these people love to pull of crazy stunts and have their work show up on the screen or television. And some stunt riders try to pull off stunts that are crazy and newsworthy. These people generate a lot of press and televise their stunts. If they pull it off, then their credibility as a stunt driver improves and they get even more jobs. Some people get press on a national level and when the stunts are successfully they are highly sought after.
What people who watch the stunts do not realize and do not see is that there is a lot of work that goes into creating and pulling off the stunt. They only see the several seconds it takes to execute the stunt. So, a lot of people may think it is easy because the stunt drivers make it look easy and then they go out and hurt themselves. This is something that people need to realize or else they could get hurt. Parents especially should explain to their children that those stunts are not easy and you need to be a pro. Otherwise they may try it themselves and then get hurt.
If you want to be a stunt rider there are several things you can do. The easiest way is to become an apprentice to someone who is experienced at it. You can also take classes and figure out a way to practice in a controlled environment. In order to get the skills needed to perform most stunts you need to practice and put in the work in a safe environment. It is not a good thing to be reckless. But reckless with control will make you a highly sought after stunt rider.
