Fork Fits
Is it better to ride a MTB with suspension fork or undersized MTB without on the road?
I'm doing some long rides, and I have a well-fitting Gary Fisher Big Sur with suspension fork, and an older, undersized Univega Alpina Uno with a traditional fixed fork. Which would be better to do long road rides towing a trailer? (and yes, I know the right answer is get a road bike. Downtube broke last week and is being repaired).
Use the bike that fits. I would be inclined to set the pre-load on the suspension fork pretty high to minimize bounce while standing and climbing. The only other disadvantage is the weight, but fit is definitely more important than weight.

Fork Lift Extensions
Making the most effective use of existing resources is the cornerstone of prudent management, and this is nowhere more important than in the warehouse. By investing in a set of fork lift extensions, you can increase the range of work that a single truck can carry out.
There are a number of reasons why fork lift extensions are an essential tool for any environment where there is a range of items that need to me moved, such as in a large warehouse or storage facility.
The first and most important use of these flexible tools is to increase the overall length of the lifting arms of the fork truck. You can add a maximum of 50% to the length of the forks, and this will allow your driver to carry much larger and bulkier loads with a standard forklift.
Longer forks mean that items that are loaded onto the truck are much more stable, and are a great deal less likely to come loose during when they are being moved. By reducing the likelihood of items falling from the forklifts, you will be able to generally improve the overall safety of the working environment, and reduce the incidence of expensive accidents when items are dropped and damaged.
A wide variety of different fork lift extensions are available, including specially shaped ones with either a circular or triangular profile. These extensions are designed to make carrying various loads much more stable. Rounded extensions ensure that bales and large rolls of material can be handled with ease, and effectively rule out the possibility of items rolling from a regular flat fork. With triangular extensions fitted to a forklift, almost any oddly shaped item can be carried securely with ease.
Forklift extensions are precision made from high quality welded steel with cast steel tips for long term strength and reliability in use. The metal is finished to a high standard and powder coated for additional protection and high visibility. The extensions are suitable for almost any regular fork lift truck, and can be fitted in a very short time. There are a number of different models available with slightly different fittings and fastenings to ensure a snug fit on whatever truck you want to fit them to.
Fitting the forklift extensions is a simple matter. They slide easily into place along the existing forks, and then fasten securely to the lift for a high level of security. When the extensions are no longer required, they can be removed quickly and easily by a single person, and then stored on a rack until they are needed again.
In addition to the added stability and flexibility that is offered by hard steel fork lift extensions, you can also purchase high visibility polyurethane fork covers that protect the forks. By concealing the sharp edge of the fork within the protectors the extensions the damaging effects of small crashes within the warehouse can be minimized, and the chance of serious injury in accidents can be substantially reduced at the same time.
