Is it weird for a girl to like BMX?

i'm a girl and i love riding bike! i'm not really a tomboy at all. I can be a girly girl and love shopping. Then i can go out a ride bike with the boys! I have an eastern traildigger bike. its bright orange. i can do jumps (only small ones) and i can land a manual barspin. Alot of my friends who are girls think its cool that i do that. Even though they dont ride bikes that much. But i love it because it keeps me in shape and its fun [= i also snowboard, skateboard, bodyboard, and longboard.

What do you think?

thanks [=

no, there are some GREAT female BMX riders.

Good luck and God Bless with all your riding!

BMX Question - hey guys, I'm looking to get my dad to buy me a complete BMX bike for racing. ?

hey guys, I'm looking to get my dad to buy me a complete BMX bike for racing. I know i want an INTENSE alloy race bike but i'm confused by front sprocket size. I notice Intense comes with a big 43 tooth chain wheel front sprocket but EASTERN seems to come with the real small less tooth front sprocket. What's better for racing? What's the difference (advantages/disadvantages) for big .vs. small front sprocket? Your feedback is much appreciated!!! Also, I prefer alloy for the light weight but concerned about rigidity and strength. I'm a 130 lbs 10 year old and questioning whether alloy will hold up to my weight. Maybe i should be shopping chromoly?

I wouldn't go any smaller than maybe a 39 tooth on the front with a 14 or 15 on the rear, bigger on the front will be harder to get off the line but better on longer faster straights with higher top speed, smaller on the front and you will be able to accelerate very quick but not as much top speed and may be pedalling flat out and not really getting anywhere. If it's too easy too pedal your pedalling action will start to become choppy and not as smooth and flowing.

Wow great story. Never saw the connection before or knew the connection to Peddlepower. Funny I went to PP for the first time for the BMXA Trick Team show BITD. Had no idea how much a part of the roots of BMX that shop was. I do now though.
