Dual Ceiling
To many wires, which ones do I use?
I bought a chandelier to replace the old one, NO I DID NOT make a note of how I unhooked the original one(I know stupid me) Anyhow the chandelier is up hanging but no power. The new chandelier came with a grounding wire and one dual insulated wire (clear no coloring) my ceiling wires are; red, black, white, and copper. Under the color strips it is copper. I can only turn this chandelier on with one dimmer switch. The light bulbs are dimmer bulbs. What wires go to what? Do I connect the red to anything, currently I have one clear to black (with wire nut) other clear to white (with wire nut) chandelier ground wrapper around the green grounding screw, and wire nuts over the red & copper coming from ceiling. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!
What color wires are hooked to the switch? That will help us to help you. It seems correct, except the bare wire from the ceiling should also go to the green ground screw. I suspect either a dimmer switch that is not working or the red wire and the black wire should be exchanged. If this does not work, call a qualified professional electrician.

What size of hvac do I need for my 1400 sq ft home.?
I found a good deal on an Amana 13 seer 2.5 ton packaged system. I do plan to put all dual pane windows in. Walls are not insulated but the ceiling has loads of it. 12' vaulted ceiling in a 350 sq ft living room. Sacramento California summer avg 85-107 temp winter avg 25-65. Thanks for your help!
2.5 ton should be sufficient but it also depends on the # of windows you have Your local HVAC contractor should be able to do load calculations to determine tonage. You dont want to over size the unit or you will have a humidity problem if you under size it the unit will not keep up in the peek of the day . There are a lot of factors to determine exact sizing but 2.5 would work for the average application
