What are the requirements to drop out of high school without parental consent in New Jersey?
I'm not asking for myself, I'm asking for a friend. Don't lecture me, he has a bad home situation, and was wondering if he could drop himself out of his high school (he's 18) and get his GED, rather than deal with his home life and such. He can move out of his house the second he leaves the high school.
You would have to be 18 to drop out without your parents' consent.
Chances are that your friend is already in the 11th or 12th grade. He is almost finished. No matter how hard it may seem, life is very hard without a high school education at the very least.
Encourage your friend to hang in there.
