Trying to find the right size of chain for homelite xl?

Hi,
I had recently bought a chain saw, homliet xl. I damaged the chain and have been looking for a replacement for a while. I discovered it is the Y class as I think this is the standard hookup on the bar. I tried the 18” and the 16” and none of them fits perfect. The 18” is a little bit too long and the 16” is a bit too short. Can you please help decide on the size of the chain and where can I fid it?

Tanks

Go to a tool retail or lawn mow shop and they can make you one.

Bracelet Size Guide

Well, there are two things for you to keep in mind choosing a bracelet size. The bracelet should be long enough to be clasped and short enough for not to easily slip down from your hand. So the bracelet will fit comfortably and you won't lose it. Everything else is up to you.

If you do not know your size and can't try the bracelet you've chosen on, then measure your wrist at the thinner part of it. You will get your bracelet size by adding 1'' to your wrist size. Sometimes it is called 'the rule of thumb'. It means that the space between your bracelet and your skin is quite enough to place your thumb there.

You may check this rule when you've bought your bracelet. And yet, there are more sophisticated ways to choose the bracelet size. Do not add anything at all to the wrist size you’ve measured for a snug fit. If you want a delicate loose fit, add ¼'' or ½'' to your wrist size.

The women's standard bracelet size is 7''. The men's standard bracelet size is 8'' (sometimes plus or minus 1''). Occasionally the bracelet inner diameter instead of the bracelet length is specified. The sizes then vary from 2 ¼'' to 3''. If the bracelet is not round then such measurements as the inner vertical diameter and inner horizontal diameter appear.

Keep in mind that a bracelet without a clasp should slip over the widest part of the hand without slipping off when the hand is down. The best way to find the size of such a bracelet is to make a sample bracelet from a lace or a piece of wire first. Try your sample bracelet on, adjust it for a perfect fit and try the bracelet on again. Measure its length or diameter and you'll know the size you need.

If it is a bracelet with a large gem or semiprecious stone then it's better to wear it above the wrist on the wider part of your arm. You can measure your arm too and it should be equal to the bracelet size (don't forget about the previous rule if there's no clasp). The bracelet size will be a little larger than your wrist size and you'll obtain a snug fit placing it upper on your arm. It is much better than to leave such a heavy bracelet dangling on your hand.

Some bracelets are resizable. For example, you can easily remove several links from your chain or watch bracelet if it is longer than you need. A leather watch bracelet usually has small eyelets to adjust its size. So you shouldn't worry if your watch bracelet is longer than you need. Mind if it is too short. Link chains are even easier to adjust. You can do it yourself or ask for a help from your jeweler. But keep excessive links in case if you need to ad them later.
