How much will it cost to replace brake pads on my 1998 Chevy Corsica?
How much should I expect it to cost to replace the brake pads on my 1998 Chevy Corsica?
I am car-dumb, and so I would have to take it to the shop (just avoiding "do it yourself, it's cheaper" suggestions.) 
Depends on the shop, the type of parts they use, and what is needing to be done. If they do the job correct and use high quality parts expect to pay around 200 dollars. If they just resurface the rotors and put on cost effective pads it will be around 100. Get a number of quotes and ask what will be done and the type of parts that are used.

What brand of brake pads do you recommend for an Isuzu Trooper?
From the brake pads that Auto Zone, O'Reilly, and NAPA carry, does a higher price give better the quality and longer life span?
CarbonMetallic/Performance Friction Corp (PFC)
I prefer the Z pads but am sometimes sol because of less than all inclusive vehicle coverage.
Wagner TQ come in a distant second.

Doing some road test w/the NAPA Adaptive One pads.
They're quiet, stop well, little fad but it appears as though the inner pad may be a tad too abrasive because they're already wearing rotors... don't see that w/PFC...
Apple has never been afraid to make a healthy profit on upgrades. Their ram upgrade prices have always been entirely out of line with DIY prices, but lately they’ve been good about making it easy to access and swap the RAM on your own. For the people who can’t do that, the mainstream people who can afford Apple products anyway, Apple charges a premium for Apple-certified hardware (which is usually top of the line stuff). It’s part of business. Ask your car dealership how much new brake pads cost installed, then call a parts supplier and ask the same question. You’re always going to pay more through “official” channels for the ease of mind in knowing you don’t have to think about it, and that it’ll work and be approved by the makers.
As I type, my 2004 Cavalier is in the shop getting new brake pads and rotors. I feel your pain.
