Brake Levers
my hydraulic disk brake at the rear produces squiling sound when i press my brake lever what will i do?
i have a xt br-m775 hydraulic disc brake, my rotor and caliper is centered. i hear a loud squealing sound and a vibration at the rear when i press my brake levers, what will i do to get rid of the noise
You should try readjusting the calipers and checking if the break pads are still good enough. But personally I don't like Shimano Disc brakes at all, no matter how many times you adjust them they won't last working perfectly more than 20 miles. You should change them , Hayes work pretty fine

Gutless Dirtbike Crash Breaks My Brake Lever
If I will upgrade my mountain bike from V break to disc break, do I need also to replace my brake levers?
First you have to see if your bike can take them, has you bike got the following
disk compatible hubs, 6 bolt or centerlock
disk brake mounts on the frame/fork
then you have to chose which setup you want mechanical or hydraulic (cable operated or ones with brake fluid in them like a car)
personally i have mechanical disk, once adjusted correctly are more than adequate, most people complain about the cable disks being shit because there not dialled in properly
if you have the tabs to mount them on then you could change the wheel set but you looking at £120 for a half decent set, thats if you can build wheels yourself, i take it if you dont know if you bike can take disks then you wouldnt be able to build wheels so + £40 for them to be built, you looking at another hundred for a mechanical disk set up, so thats £260
tbh it would just be easier and more cost effective to sell your bike and get a new one
try to look at 2008 2009 models to save some money, some online retailers have a couple from 08 boxed up in warehouses still
also i forgot to ad if this is for pure looks value dont bother, set you v's up properly and get a decent set of pads, you might want to get your wheels trueds to get tight clearances between pad and rim (less lever to pull = harder sharper braking)
