Bmx Snap
I need help i cant find a replacment chain for my bike.?
i have a mongoose BMX and its about a 20'' chain and it snapped in half and i cant find a new chain for it anywhere.
You can pick one up at just about any Walmart or Ace Hardware or big-box sports store if you don't have a bike shop handy. They'll cost you from $5 to $9 at those stores. A normal 1/8" chain will do fine, but you could also use a 3/32" multispeed chain.
If your old chain is still in decent shape, you can remove and/or replace the broken link using a chain tool (also available at Walmart for a few bucks). You'll need that chain tool anyway to properly cut a new chain to length, even if it comes with a master link.
If you go to a bike shop, they'll probably do the work for free if you buy the chain from them.
