Psi for mountain bike for on-road riding to suit my weight?
i have a mountain bike with max psi in both tyres of 50psi i weigh 95 kilos (210 pounds) and just riding for health reasons...also i usually ride pretty rough (go over curbs with out really distributing weight to front when i should ...had a bmx before i used to ride and back wheel kept popping for this reason but since i changed to a mountain bike hasn't happened....yet). Thanks!
Go with the max pressure. Lower pressure on mtn bike tires is for traction on a variety of surfaces. Higher pressure will get you less rolling resistance on pavement and will minimize pinch flats from the inner tube being bitten between the rim and a hard edge, like a curb. You can avoid pinch flats entirely by going with tubeless mountain bike tires.
