Bmx Frame
How can I strip paint off my BMX frame?
I have a MirraCo frame and i want to raw it out. I REALLY don't want to sit there and sand the whole thing so would paint stripper work? And if so, what are the steps to remove the paint? The clear coat is kinda worn out as well. Thanks for the help <3
go to home depot and buy paint stripper a couple paint brushes and some gloves also buy some sand paper for those tough spots. you will also need a lil tray to put some stripper in you could just cut up a 2 litter bottle and use the bottom piece just put some in there get the paintbrush and do the top tube and head tube first dont use too much just a light coat then clean the stripper off the frame after about 5 mins. with a shop towel or whatever. taking off paint takes time and patience it might burn your skin a bit too not too bad though lol it happens. ive been riding for 6 years and have stripped about 20 frames it easy and worth the time. buy some clear coat also you don't want your frame rusting.

bmx pro splits frame in 2 at 08 BMX games in sydney
this just makes me want to grind my teeth. if they want to live in the past we will all go ahead and live in the present with our ebooks that are available in real time. maybe we will have time in the future to look back at their delayed releases and maybe we will be too busy reading the books readily availabe to us that arent dealt out in arbitrary time frame by old foggy publishers living in their well padded and bloated past lives where they lived off other artists abilities.
I like the paint job on the newer Allez. It’s nicely understated while still being stylish. I think they’re much more in the vein of the 05-06 Tarmac’s and Roubaix’s, which is a nice departure from Specialized’s history of poor, tasteless, and disgusting paint jobs, especially on their mountain frames (see the 2007 SX Trail for example, or any of their BMX frames 03-09. Yeuch.)
My advice – leave the stock paint be. It’s fucking awesome. Sure, perhaps a bit dated. But that’s the point. It’s a classic for Christ’s sake. Old frame, old parts, old paint. It’s perfect. Just knock that rear derailuer cable housing back down into place and level out those bars and you’re golden.
