hey guys ive got an x-rated hustle blue, i want to spray it purple, ive got purple matte spray paint and white primer paint. ive never really sprayed a bike before so i need some help guys. i only want to spray the frame and the fork, i want the frame my purple and my for the white primer ive got.
ive took both off my 20'' wheels off. i know to spray your bike you must remove all the parts but to be honest guys im really looking for the simplest way possible around it, without taking off all my parts ?

if you want it to look crap, then do as above.
if you want it to look good, then take everything off it, and never hit it on anything ever or it will chip.
if you want it to look really good and be durable. look up a local powdercoater in the phonebook, call them up and take to them ONLY your fork and frame, with no components. be very clear to them about not getting powdercoat inside your bottom bracked shell or headset race on your fork.
spraypaint will be disappointing, because it is crappy.
however, if you deside to spraypaint, do LOTS of thin coats ( multiple cans worth say 5 primer and 3 top coats over everything, then mabe 3 clear) leaving as long as possible ( hopefully overnight ) between coats.
prime everything white
paint desired colours ( not white primer wont be any good as topcoat)
clearcoat everything.
one hint is to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CAN.
buy the best spraypaint you can afford, not cheap stuff.
also, GENTLY warm the paint by leaving the base of the can in warm water for a min or two before shaking.
- shake for a very long time- like 5 mins.
-paint on a sunny day
