A foundry has been commissioned to make souvenir coins. The coins are to be made from an alloy that is 35% silver. The foundry has on hand two alloys, one with 60% silver content and one with a 10% silver content. How many kilograms of each alloy should be used to make 23 kilograms of the 35% silver alloy?

Sil Fos Silver Solder?
I got a truck bed tool box,, the man said it had a lot of junk in it and he didn't have the time to clean it out. I paid $20 for it,, Plastic. Well it had 20lbs of silver solder in it. I know a little about it. I can't find how much it's worth. I don't need it. I have a fiend he said it may be worth around 800 dollars. I think it's 15% silver.

I looked on ebay and there's nothing. I guess it's worthless if you can't sell it...

It isn't soldering rods or sticks. It's .003 X 1.00 roll,, like a strip. I see on ebay a pound goes for $25-$35 a lbs. Thanks
SilFos is actually a self fluxing braze used in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration installations. Its very very common. Your home AC is installed with SilFos.
Welding supply houses sell SilFos and if you go to a welding supply house you can get the actual price of that Sil Fos on todays market.
Last time i bought some to install my AC it was about $7 a pound and probably today its more like $10 a pound.
Either way, go to your local welding supply house or and AC and Heating supply house and they will tell you the exact price on todays market.
