How to make my bmx bike lighter?

Ok, so today I got my first bmx bike and it's frickin heavy. It's a 2006 We the People Addict w/o pegs. What's the cheapest way to lighten it up?

Having it an Addict I assume you have pointless parts off (reflector, unneeded pegs, brake(s) etc.).

Some people would cut their bars and seatpost. As scary as that sounds, it's not as hard. To cut the bars, usually people cut up to 1.5 inches on each side, just make sure you measure accurately. The seatpost is pretty easy just cut the length you don't use. Drilling holes is also a option but i wouldn't recommend it.

For the pricier things you can buy a few new parts. Plastic pedals are pretty awesome and haven't had problems with mine yet (Odyssey twisted PC), plus their cheap. Whatever else there is on your bike you aren't satisfied with I know KHE makes some pretty light things. Also, a very rare thing to have on your bike is titanium which is very light and still holds up well but it is very pricey.

Good Luck
